International Abused Customer Day
I propose to create a new international holiday—International Abused Customer Day—which would be observed worldwide every year either on September 22nd or on the Friday prior to September 22nd if it falls on a weekend. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness of customer abuse—encouraging customers and members of the public to report instances of abuse, create a means for recording and reporting abuse cases, and overcome the barriers that stop people reporting. It is also an opportunity for companies to show their customers some appreciation.
As the first step I suggest submitting International Abused Customer Day to Chase's Calendar of Events and registering it at the National Day Calendar site. As an observance, it will not be a nationwide public holiday.
